1)  SKILLS PROGRESSION CHECKLIST (NEW)

During the offseason PYHA constructed a skills progression checklist for every level in our association that will begin to be implemented during the 2023-2024 season. Besides Mites, skills listed in "regular type" are skills that should have already been taught and mastered at the prior level, but still need refining. Skills listed in "bold type" are new skills to be introduced and taught at those respective levels. 

Coaches at each level should consult this checklist when planning their season to make sure all of the level appropriate skills are being taught and that none are overlooked. 

2)  WEEKLY PRACTICE THEMES

Before the season begins we encourage coaches to draw up a season plan with weekly themes that incorporate ALL skills from the skills progression checklist. See example below:

3)  MANDATORY PARENT/COACH MEETINGS

After teams are formed coaches should schedule a mandatory Parent/Coach meeting ASAP to go over team guidelines and expectations. Below is a sample template of what's expected to be covered in the initial meeting. 

Additional team meetings should be scheduled during the season as needed.
