Hello Mite Families;

    I hope this finds you well and getting excited for another year of hockey.  If your player is new to PYHA, we want to welcome them and we are excited to help them continue to develop their skating skills, hockey skills, and love for the game.

    Mites will start October 26th and will run through March 11th.  Similar to last year, practice will be mostly on Thursday evenings, Saturday mornings, and Sunday afternoons.  A detailed calendar will be up shortly on our PYHA website.  We once again will be offering Mite levels at potentially A, B, C, and D, same as last year.  We do not know  how many teams we will have at each level. This will be determined after the first couple weeks of practice.  One item that is different from last year is the Mite-D level.

This year we had everyone sign up for Mites.  However, if your player is put on the Mite-D team(s), we will be issuing a $200 refund as our Mite-D level is $50 due to the reduced amount in games and ice time.  The focus of this level will continue to be skill development in practice to develop the skills needed for games at the higher Mite levels.  However, we will be scheduling a few Mite-D games and a jamboree later in the season.

    We do not know our game or jamboree/tournament schedule as of yet.  This will be known mid to late November.  We do know Mite teams will be playing in our Mite Jamboree the weekend of January 26th-28th, so you can add that to your calendar.

    One additional change for the 2017-18 season is that Mini-Mites is now called Tiny-Tigers.  The focus at this level is to develop skating skills and improve confidence on ice for these skaters.  Along with developing skating skills, hockey skills will be taught in a station format in accordance with USA Hockey's ADM Model.  This level will take place on Saturday mornings, starting mid-November and going to mid-February.  This program is once again free as we want to be able to introduce the great game of hockey to as many families as possible.  The only requirement at this level for fees/fundraising is to once again purchase 5 chevy cards for $25, these can be used by the family or sold to family and/or friends.  Registration for this level is open on our website and this year, there will not be a cut-off for registration.  Families can get registred and join until the end of the season.  However, the sooner the better and more ice time they will get.  So please encourage younger family and friends to get signed up ASAP.

    We once again do have a limited amount of hockey equipment. Equipment handout will be on September 27th from 6-8pm for those skaters with the last name A-L, and September 28th 6-8pm for M-Z.   If you are in need of hockey equipment, please let our equipment coordinator, Jeremy Bacon know: jeremy.bacon@princetonyouthhockey.com.  There is a $200 deposit on all equipment.  Please also let Jeremy know if you are willing to donate any equipment back to PYHA for future skaters, we greatly appreciate any and all donations of hockey equipment in good condition.

Jersey tops will once again be included for all Mites and Tiny Tigers and will be kept by the player once the season is completed.

Looking forward to seeing you at the arena!  If you have any additional questions on these levels, please let me know.

Go Tigers!
